Looking forward to next weeks airshow, but could not help wondering why they are having it on a working day that is Friday? It's advertised for the 9th (Friday) and 10th (Saturday) December. Airshows are normaly on a Saturday and Sunday. Just wondering as it seems a bit odd... :?

Previous AAD flying days that were held on Sundays resulted in a lot of complaints from the local community and Church groups. Even with no jets flying on the Sunday, there were still complaints of not being able to hear the church services.

Must say ... I cannot blame them, I'd also want to jump up from the pews and run outside every time an aircraft flew overhead ...

Sundays are Sundays for a reason.
More people go to church on a Sunday than people going to the airshow.
Full stop.

Fair enough. What I meant was its always the people who live near the airport that complain about the noise.

Is the flying display list still the same as on the website, or are there changes?

Girl vs Plane - any info/details on this?

No mustangs  No Mirage  No Buccaneers or Lighnings . The only stuff I still look forward to seeing then are Gripen, JP and, of course ZU-TEE. Will ZU-Tee, ZU-KIM and ZU-HIT be in their original colours or are they still "Porsche-blue" for the airshow?

No disrespect to the organisers, but to be honest at a glance IMHO the air show program seems pretty lame by comparison to previous years. :? But hey, we've always got TFDC Air show next year in Bredarsdorp. :smt023

My 5c...

Agreed Gripen - I think they should seperate the Wheels from the Wings and Wheels and make it a better AIRSHOW. Killarney race track is there for a Wheels show if needed. It is not as if extra drawcards are needed in the form of cars if a good flying display is provided.

As I understand it, they are still in the Porche-blue colours......they will be doing the Porche formation at the show to.

As far as I had it the normal Ysterplaat shows were always the smaller show of the year, if any show there...the only reason the Ysterplaat shows have been so big the last couple of years is because AAD was held at Ysterplaat. western Cape's big show is usually TFDC

The Wings and Wheels show is a annual show....Last year it was at Swartkop...although I must say the Swartkop Wings and Wheels show was brilliant, with Mirage F-1, Mirage III, Cheetah D, Hawk and Gripen Flying. But that also only being, because the Mirages and Cheetah are so closely based from Swartkop.
