Dunnottar started off as Joint Air Training Scheme (JATS) 24 Air School Nigel

The SAAF was not part of the Commonwealth Air Training Schools

Jan Smuts did a seperate deal under the JATS plan with the RAF

Hello..
It has been more than a year since Dean's post about the individual writting a book on CFS Dunnottar I was wondering if anybody knew the progress to this? I really hope to be able to buy this book one day...
I was a pf member at the Flying School Dunnottar during the time of the closing down and subsequent move of the base to Langebaan. I remember Colonel Ian Stannard instructing Flight Sargeant Pieter Fouche (who then worked at the "Burgermag" office) to compile some sort of history on this. During '92/93 he mostly took photos. Wonder what happened to those...
I recently came across a facebook page simply called Central Flying School (CFS) Dunnottar should anybody be interested.
